incredible art!
Thank you Sethkinkaid!^_^
what board games?
I think the major inspirations when we wrote it were Space Alert and dungeon crawlers like Star Wars Imperial assault. Space alert especially is really effective at creating raising levels of chaos over time which forces players into interesting sub-optimal situations.
I tried to apply this in the module through the combination of the doom dice chain and the AI/Entity threat level which means that monsters start off randomly moving about the derelict but become more aware of the PCs as the session continues.
The company quota is quite boardgamey but like gold in old school DnD in that it encourages players to push their luck into interesting sub-optimal situations where they need to be creative to get those last few units of scrap before the ship collapses or something nasty breaks through the door.
Sorry for the essay I hope that explains some of the boardgame/osr inspiration.
don't apologize! thank you for this response!!
Your very welcome any other questions drop us a post. :-)
How many pages does this booklet have?
Managing the Expendables has 52 pages and the Asset contract has 8. Hope this helps!^_^
I had a great time playing this both in person and online! It makes it super easy to make fun and horrifying Mothership adventures, can't recommend enough. This is my first stop for future Mothership adventures, especially one-shots or short campaigns. Incredible art, too.
Super excited to see what you will make with it cmdr23
